I have a 2016 G21. Currently have a tower up Nautique cover. They are $2170 new at nautiqueparts.com whereas the tower down version is only $1450. My boat is only trailered twice per year and then kept on a lift all season. We go out 3-6 times per week so I’m taking this cover on and off a lot! I’m guessing the time it takes to drop the tower is about the same time it takes me to mess with my custom lifting cords to keep the water from pooling on the tower up cover. Any have any input? How about some pics of the tower down cover? Thank you!

I personally love the tower down cover and the Bimini can stay on the tower as well on my boat . There are some years where you have to remove the Bimini so keep that in mind if you have a BiminiLast edited by ScooterMcgavin; 11-07-2022, 09:18 AM.2009 Super Air Nautique 210 TE

My friend had a Z5 on a 2013 G23--he had to take it off as there was no hinge mechanism. I had a 2015 and skipped the Z5 for that reason--though I never went back and confirmed that it could not fold on that year. I think it comes down to the fact that it sits under the tower and there's no real way to create a hinge for it.
RE cover, given your bimini situation, I'd go tower up. Otherwise, I just ordered tower down because I think they're better for trailer storage and use. If you're mooring in a slip, then tower up looks more convenient as the boat is closer to ready-to-use.Previous boats:

My tower-up cover works with the Z5 in place or pulled. It also covers the entire side of the boat, is easy to put on, water never ever ponds, wax lasts forever, it has excellent air movement although I do run a fan to keep mildew away, and I only have to tie it down at the platform to keep it in place. I had a similar cover made for my prior boat it is the only way to go.

We use this cover the majority of the year (first pic). It was made for this boat by a local boat canvas business. We use the regular nautique cover for towing (second pic)

I like that first one. Can you share the local canvas folks who made it?

I'm betting you'll have to get one custom made to be over the tower/bimini like the one pictured above but that's like what I have on the P23 and it's great as a cover. It is a PITA trying to put it on with anything over 10-15mph winds as it turns into a sail, and it is pretty heavy which makes doing it solo a PITA, but it's well worth it as it covers the bimini canvas and speakers and everything with no water pooling at all.
