    Z5 Bimini Install

So I bought this 2013 G23 last year. The Z5 Bimini always seemed super low to me, ( I know they are typically low, but it feels lower than it should be). Having never been in another with Z5 I just accepted it as that is normal, however after seeing a few other boats I am sure mine is lower in the front. I was also looking at it and noticed that it is off center and the brackets are not it the same location on the tower. I was hoping someone would have the specific installation instructions for a Z5 on a G23 so I could put the brackets back to where they should be. Or just f someone can measure the location of the tower clamps from a reference point on the boat/ tower. Thank you.

Looks like this will have to wait until the winter time. I tried to just do a quick adjustment on it and a few of the bolts are seized in the aluminum clamps. I will have to drill them out and re-tap unfortunately. I had the same issue with the wake board racks, I realized one only had 1 bolt holding it on and then found the other 3 had already been twos off. Had to drill them out and tap new threads.

Mouse Milk Penetrating oil. A drop and let it soak overnight. For all you saltwater people, it is great for releasing stainless fasteners installed into aluminum.

It does look low in the front. I think you just need to just play with the adjustment. The bimini trend is definitely higher with the over-the-tower designs but I run mine low with just enough clearance for my 5-10 head. I am in Florida and find shade to be more desirable overhead clearance.

I think the Z5 is the best bimini ever produced...unless you need to always drop the tower. I run a full cover over the tower and bimini cover and never take it down.

Thank you! I will definitely give it a shot. I do love the Z5 Bimini but sometime would like to be able to fold it up. Living in Northern Wyoming it would be nice to get some sun sometime when it isn’t as nice. Our last Nautique had a SewLong Bimini, but I am not ready to spend 4K on one yet.
