    Bimini Top Setup

So our purchase of our new, to us, 2006 SANTE 220, in the 3 days of owning it, continues to humble me on my complete lack of knowledge of most things boating related. I imagine there will be many posts from me in the near future on all the things that I may need feedback on. So here is the first of many:

We took it out on Saturday and had a blast but as part of my preparation to launch, I was attempting to remove the bimini from the storage bag and install it before launch. I managed to get it mounted, if not a bit loose, and couldn't puzzle my way to getting it very tight in comparison to what I expect is the proper way. I had to stop twice once we were out on the lake to try to reconfigure how it was strapped up to lessen the violent flapping that was happening while out and about. Does anyone have some feedback on how these are mounted, or a reference video? I feel like I am doubling down on the stupid when I can't find Google or youtube references, which makes it seem like I may be one of the few with this struggle

It’s gonna be tough for any of us to help you out without pictures of what your working with. Tower and Bimini set ups can vary depending on which model Bimini you have and also what tower you have. I’m sure if you posted pictures of your issue, tower, Bimini and boat we could get you dialed in

Might be a longshot, but my style was an over the tower Bimini. You would drape the Bimini from front to back, secure the back straps and clips at the back of the tower.

You would then attach the vertical poles at the front of the Bimini to make it snug. You have to pull down on it gently and it can be kind of a two person job to align the pins.

Then with the front legs attached you can snug down the tension straps at the back if needed.

Mine came from a company called Tower Biminis.

Thanks for the feedback, I think we muddled our way through it and got a good idea on how to set it up moving forward. I was looking at tower biminis before starting this thread, I am glad that we figured out how to get it going but it doesn't feel like it is going to last too long with the age and the general condition so we may have to look at the replacement option.
