    PP Stargazer

I purchased a 2007 SV 211 and it has Perfect Pass. We do not ski the course at all and if we did it probably will not be in my 211. We free ski wakeboard and surf. Will the new Stargazer (GPS) make the Perfect Pass better doing those things?

I like the idea of having GPS to know what my speed is. Last year some of the gauges did not match.

Hopefully some has tried these things.

    RE: PP Stargazer

For the trick/wakeboard mode the PP still runs off of the paddle-wheel, so in terms of being better I don't know how much change there was from the 6.5NG version - but people say that it is a much smoother pull.

I was kicking around the idea of upgrading my setup (which was the single line wakeboard pro) to the Star Gazer, but after talking to them they said I really wouldn't see that much of a difference in terms of performance - so all I would really be getting was the new multi-line display (and since we only wakeboard/skate/surf, what I would be getting for the $700 price tag wasn't worth it).

But they did say to wait until this spring/summer because they should be coming out with some new goodies!

      RE: PP Stargazer

I have heard that the Wakeboard mode uses the GPS to calibrate but I am not sure what that means or what that will do. My PP can run Digital pro or wakeboard pro. I switched to wakeboard pro because it was simpler.

Stargazer calibrates the paddle wheel speed 6 times per second in WB mode. I'm not terribly familiar with the other variables you could input in 6.5 ng wakeboard mode, but there are at least two adjustments for sensitivity and something else that escapes me at the moment in SG.

east_tx_skier thank you for the reviews you have written. I think I have read your review 10 times in three or four different places. It sounds like it has worked out well for you. I think I will call PP tomorrow and see what they say. If anyone else has knowledge's on this let me know. I am most interested in surfing.

Well I spoke with PP this morning and they indicated the same as Sinkoumn said. Not a great help but they may have something new later in the year.
