Boom options for a 211

Looking at a potential purchase of a 211....maybe replacing my 99 Sport. However, I spend 60% of my boat time with someone hanging off of the boom....either barefooting or instruction on skis or wakeboard. I am very comfortable with the boom and the boat on my Sport, and with the 216s. But, I am very uncomfortable with how a boom world work with a 211.

Anybody with some experience? Any pictures?

thanks for the input....I am still struggling with the ease of raising and lowering the boom. I end up teaching all different sizes and shapes.

Do you guys ever have trouble with people hitting the side of your boat with wakeboards/skis/etc when teaching using the boom?

I only have trouble with folks hitting the side of the boat, when they have came out of their wakeboard and are needing help getting back into their bindings. I sometimes bring them over to the side of the boat (while they are in the water) and help them....during that process, they can bump the boat accidently. Got a bit of a blemish on the decal from that once.

But, I have never had anyone glance the side of the boat off of the boom while going. However, I use the boom on the driver's side and I am very careful on left turns. I either avoid them, or I make them very long and sweeping.

UPDATE.....I couldn't get my mind around using the tower boom. I guess it just spooked me when I compare how much I adjust my current boom....and the potential complications of adjusting that tower boom. On a normal outing, we'll have someone learning or barefooting off the boom about 60% of the time our boat is running. And at one point, the person will be 5'-0" and 120 lbs....and then 20 minutes later the next person will be 6'-0" and 210 lbs. So, we adjust the boom up and down constantly.

So, we went ahead and purchased a new 216 instead of the 211. If I was just purchasing for my family of 4...I think we would have gone with the 211. But, our experience is that we only go out on the boat as a family of 4 once in a great while. I bet we've only been out as the 4 of us maybe 4 or 5 times since we've owned a boat. We ALWAYS have another family, or students from our church, or whoever....so, we want to make sure that those folks enjoy their experience also. Our joy is as much from those folks having a great as ourselves....does that make sense? Plus we love our 99 sport....and we know that we'll love the 216.
