well i'm thinking about buying a new brd for the up and coming season and have narrowed it dwn to a l. f. shane 140 i think.been riding a faction, omega and faze,i know wide variety huh,but i think from what i've been reading that a shane would suit me well. i'm a intermediate rider i guess, mainly doing w2w,180's,3's and really enjoy carving alot also.land in the flats alot as well and figure the spine would help a little with the hard landings since i'm pushing 200.any thoughts on this brd. or maybe others?thanks-cody

I have a 07 Shane board & bindings... I really like this board. It's very forgiven, still pretty sharp on turns. The pop is good, not a 10, but better then 8 out of the 10 boards right now. The best part of the board are the landings. They are super smooooooth, even behind a Nautique wake ;-) . No joke, perhaps there are boards with softer landings, but I never rode one. Don't know about spins, but I can land every 180 (switch, heel/toe side) w2w with this board. Much easier then my previous board, but I don't have much other comparison at this area..230 with ZR6 running on propane

thanks for for the reassurance.ordered one up yesterday, found a smokin deal on the 07"s(which i think look better anyways) for $235 bucks brand new at skibennets.plus got another pair of the hinge cwb bindings for it too.can't wait to try it out in a few weeks when the weather finally brakes.winter sucks...had time to detail the ol' boat to back new specs. though :mrgreen:98 sport gt-40

Dude you will love the Shane, I recently switched to the shane after riding the fish, the shane has alot of the same features that the fish started. The cool thing about the shane is that it is really tight on turns, but very loose when it is not one edge, it is also very forgiving on landings, it is also a very soft landing board, but not as soft as the fish. You will not be dissapointed with your choice, I have often wondered why more people are not riding that board. It also has amazing pop, you are going to have a great summer!--Kam

I'd suggest something a little bigger than a 140 considering you're pushing 2 bills. There are a number of boards in the LF line with 1-3 spines. I weigh about 175 and rode a Watson 142 for a season and a half and went to the Axis 143 at the end of last season. I do like the extra size, I didn't think I'd be able to tell as it's only 1 cm, but the board in general feels bigger, tons of pop and soft landings. I'm sure the Shane would work out fine for you as well, it just seems a bit small.Ummm, I\'ll take the REAL 210 please. Thanks.

Length is only one part of the equation...it may only be 1cm longer, but it is also wider as a result meaning more surface area all around and easier to plane. Murray is a tiny guy and he is finally riding bigger than mid 130's boards. They are all getting lighter, so swing weight shouldn't be an issue.Eric Fox

well actually i'm right at 190,but that is closer to 200 than 150.i've been on a 143 old school thinner bord and its always felt a little big.also tried a 141 wider brd and it felt alot better so i'm hoping the 140 wider shane will be just about right.if not there will be a cheap 140 shane for sale here before long...98 sport gt-40

I rode the shane 140 for a while and I am 6'0" 170-175 lbs. The board lands really soft and is pretty fast. The only thing I didn't really like was that it was a little slow going edge to edge for me. Other than that, it was great.2008 Super Air Nautique 210TE
