    Suitable Boat lifts

    I am thinking of getting a boat lift for my 196, my problem is which lift to go with.
    The choice in the UK is limited so I am looking to buy in the US and get it shipped over.
    The link below is to the website of one of the suppliers I am in contact with.
    I am hoping somebody can offer me advice or relay their experiences of the various lift manufactures.
    I am looking at a vertical lift type which will have to be manually operated or solar powered as there is no mains power aviable. Good and bad points of each manufacturer and design etc would be useful, easy of use etc.

      Have had an Aqua Lift for 9 years with zero problems. Powered by water, hooked up to sprinkler system on a charged line with 1/2" pvc. Separate shut off valve and low point drain for winter months in WA State USA. Very popular lift in this area and was around $5k, add about $2.5k for the canopy. No maintanence at all and has been very reliable with few moving parts. Not as fast up and down as a solar powered or hydrolic but less to mess with and keep up.         Okay, I have decided to go with the Craftlander 45108v vertical boat lift. It is manually operated which is okay as we have no power source, has a decent warranty, is constructed in Aluminium so won't rust, and has a decent lift height as our lake level fluctuates, the V side construction allows easy access and the stainless stell cable should last for a few years with out to much trouble
        From the research I have done it seems well priced, there are others that are more expensive but seem to have pprettymuch the same spec and do the same job.
        I will be taking a bit of a risk as I am buying without having seen one, so if anybody has come across this lift manufaturer and can offer a comment on their build quality then I would appreciate it, I intend placing the order Sunday.
