    Indoor Wakeboard Rack

Who stores their boards indoors? I am wanting to get mine off of the floor.

    RE: Indoor Wakeboard Rack

I use a "home made" system using pre-cut and pre-threaded 1/2" black iron pipe. I use flanges and hang it from the ceiling of my garage. My first attempt at this was a single level system...but my current version has multiple levels. You can buy all the tees, union, caps, etc....from Lowes or whoever. Then I use the foam pipe insulation and zip ties to cover the black iron piping. This works really well for me. I use it for 3 slalom skis, 3 pairs of combo skis, the boom, 4 wakeboards and one wake skate.

I will try to get some pictures tonight to post.

i use various length shelf brackets screwed to the wall in my storage room. You can wrap the brackets in pipe foam or similar material. This stores snowboards, wakeboards and slalom skis. You can also hang ropes and handles from it as well. This is placed across from the wardrobe that houses wetsuits, vests etc.

I use a track system made by RubberMaid. they sell it on Amazon. You attach the rail (#5G77 84" is what I use) to the wall then put individual hooks (#5E11) on the rail for each board. It works really welll, and you can buy other attachments for different things to get them up off the garage floor. I use this stuff all around my garage.

Here's a couple of good threads on racks:

          http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/m...19/555535.html

          http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/m...19/232782.html

The one I like best is in the 2nd thread where they use bike racks (one for each board). You can find the racks at Home Depot or Lowes.

Another option, if you have a jigsaw, you can make some cheap using 3/4" plywood or MDF. Use your boat's board racks as a template.

                untreated MDF+water = troubles ahead.

I used PVC pipe. Don't have any pictures, but it came out very cleaning looking. Of course I use it for skis. The wakeboard occupies the top spot that I cannot reach

I use ladder hooks. You can pick them up at any hardware store for a couple of dollars each. They are covered with a rubber coating so they don't scratch your boards or skis and They are long enough to hang life jackets on to dry them out or to store them. Works great for me.

One thing to add about my "garage" racks is they are just that, nothing pretty. They don't display the boards like tadelfio's, but they do store them fairly compactly. I have 4 boards shelved within 30 inches of height. As long as the creek does not rise 40 feet, they should last a long time.

yeah I know but I'm pretty sure that 80% of people with indoor racks use them to dry off their boards/bindings/life jackets / wetsuits....
