Obrien andy mapple seige or G3 revenge?

i am looking at getting a "real" ski and have been looking at the used ones on ebay. i am a novice skier and would like to progress a lot. i will probably do some lessons with jeff rogers (team nautique pro skier) since we do live in the same hometown and i hear that he is a great teacher. i understand that the world team comp ski is now a wide body ski so i do not want that. i would like to stay with a "normal" narrow ski and these are two i found on ebay. could anyone tell me anything about them if anyone has skied on either type ski? is one better than the other? are either one terribly difficult and unforgiving?

i tend to lean towards obrien equipment as that is what i have always skied (world team, masters, exhibition II, etc...) .

anyway, just considering upgrading but don't want to spend the $$$$ on new stuff and found these two used ones. would really appreciate some opinions please. thanks!!

Personally, If you're wanting a real ski and wanting to get some real lessons in from Jeff, then I'd go even a bit more high performance than that. How much are you wanting to spend? A good place to find nice used ski equipment is http://www.ski-it-again.com . There's a couple of Obrien Sixam's on there for $.40 on the dollar. The Sixam was Mapples last ski before leaving obrien for Radar.

Don't discount what is being billed as a widebody ski. You might even look at an Obrien Synchro. It's a bit of a wide body ski, but for training in the course it is awesome. I watched a guy ski it last year into 39 off at the Bayou Big Dawg, also, so it's quite capable. FWIW..........the World Team is not a true widebody. They just widened the forebody a bit compared to how it used to be.
