OK... here's the scoop...
I asked for people's advice a long time ago on a new slalom ski for me. I said I could do all 6 of the INSIDE BOUYS of the course at ~3K-3.2K RPM (on an '82 Ski 2001) As for the regular bouys, like one or two at that speed, non-consistent.
It seemed to be the majority of the people here recommended the KD Carbon 7000 but some said to go w/ HO. Everybody said to demo both skis.
So I demo the HO Vengence for two days (Sat. & Sun.)(The KD one wasn't in stock yet.) And I liked it, but I have had nothing to compare it to, I've been on an HO all my life. Then our local ski shop gets his one and only order of KD's in the following Tuesday. I then go back to the shop on Friday, I think, to demo the 7000 in my size, 66" or 65" idealy... and he's sold all the 7000's that would fit me! The only one he has is a 68".
So I think to myself, "Well... I'm not a pro skier, and I've never skied on anything but an HO, so I'm probably not going to dislike any ski. So I might as well try something new and go with the KD Carbon 7000 which I would have to order from Barts or Overtons, etc..."
Should I be thinking this? Should I trust everybody's oppinion saying that the 7000 is probably the best ski for me? Including my uncle who says its the best ski on the market? Even though I have never skid on it?
Or should I stick w/ HO for another couple of years and not take my chances buying a ski that I've never skied on before...
Please help!
Thanks from everbody in advance!
