    Tower Bimini

It was a beautiful day here in Indiana so I thought I would install my Tower Bimini.
It turned out to be a bigger project than I planned. The instructions seemed simple enough every thing went according to plan until the final adjustments. Then I found out the measurements on the instructions were not even close. 4 hours later this is what it looks like. I think its right what do you think?

Unfortunately yes.. Couldn't really do a loose fit cause they need to be tight to see how tight the canvas would be. I probably could have put a thin rubber strip under the clamps had I thought about it ahead of time.

Sweet looking boat! One thing I noticed about my bimini last year was that the ropes were rubbing/wearing on the canvas. Has anyone found a cure for that?

I picked up a roll of clear tape made for canvas repairs and ran it across the back of the bimini. You could probably use clear packing tape or any flexible tape. I replace it once or twice a season just to keep it looking new.

No marks on the tower aluminum clamps on stainless steel.
Thanks for the tip on the rope wear.
Has anyone had wear problems with the speaker clamps ?

My under tower bimini was the same way. When I picked up the top, my local CC dealer told me to throw away the directions before the install and just put it where I thought it would work best. I'm glad I took his advise because after installing it I read the directions and NONE of the measurements were correct(some weren't even close).

I had problems installing the Tower Bimini on the new Titan tower also. The measurements were off and I had to tweak everything. Since I trailer mine every trip, I had to tighten mine down very tight so it wouldn't flap going 70 down the highway. I had to screw bolts in the front slide mounts because the micro digger screws didn't cut it.

Bimini looks great, and love the solid black (brings out the detail in the decal). What color is that? Doesn't look bright enough to be the typical orange? I like it!

The Tag on the Bimini say not to go over 40 mph with the top up?

the boat should do about 45. I personally wouldn't (and don't) drive down the road with it.

                            Mike,
great looking setup! I think you'll love that over the tower after you've used it awhile. We love ours and I'm not that tall. I've noticed that the Titan SS towers seem to be a little lower than the previous aluminum versions, so that OTT will save you from stooping all the time.

I think the variance on the towers is going to always create some issues with the TB brand as they build them to samples they have on hand in their shop, or from customers boats. The Titan presents some challenges because of the radius of the bends on that tower design. Remember, that the tubing has tolerances as do the bending machines, and the people welding them up.

Just out of curiousity, what is the floor to the bottom of the tower measure, bottom of speakers?

The boat is in the garage with the cover on so I cant measure it. I do know from the floor to the bottom of the
speakers is 5'7" my head just fits under it standing.
