One more thing...since that one experience on the cops boat, I now don't even have a single beer during the day until I am completely done driving the boat. I have no interest in ever having to deal with that again.

I knew I was not drunk, but it was still nerve-racking having to go through it.

That mannequin is hilarious!!! That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. I was out on my lake one night and we have these beacons that light up when it's quiet time (no-wake) and my buddy had been begging to drive all day, so I let him behind the wheel and he hit it and the cop immediately came flying over. We had a 5 minute chat about the beacon, and I said, well if it's too light out to see if the beacon is lit up, then we should be ok, right? He let us go and was really cool about everything. I think they're more concerned with people being unsafe, which we're always very safe, and helping tow people in, and whatnot, so I think we've got the reputation with us.

Their reasoning was that they simply don't project enough light. Their recommendation was water resistent off-road lights. They come as single lights, so you would want at least four of them. They project a ton of light so evening/nighttime boating is significantly safer and it's easier to find your fallen rider in the dark.

They don't necessarily look stylish, but you'll have more light than you know what to do with, which equates to a higher level of safety.
I ride behind my neighbor's Sanger all the time that has wakeboard specific lights and they are pretty useless.

When I set up lights on my SAN (some day) my plan is to use some offroad HIDs like these - http://shop.oreillyauto.com/ProductD...egoryCode=3151 on a detachable bar. They don't look pretty but they work great.

The glow stick is a great idea. I usually use the kids bracelet ones after they are done playing with them and hook them onto my vest.

Glow stick on the vest and head for sure. We won't wakeboard or do anything any farther than fifteen feet from the stern of the boat. I think the law is no pulling after dark, but we are going to ignore that one. The fuzz leave the lake after dark, there are about fifteen boats on the entire lake fishing after the sun goes down, and we will stick to a cove where we are alone.

I agree that the majority of the boat cops are truly concerned with safety and considering the driver never has any alcohol when driving my boat and we abide by all lake laws (with this soon to be exception) I am pretty confident if we get busted we will skate. Who knows though? We just want to surf back to the marina after a good evening set. Is that too much to ask.

When are they going to make a law banning power turns? Or restrict areas of lakes from tubers? That is the real crime. Some jackass snaking down the middle of the lake at twenty-five miles an hour looking backwards the whole time. Grinning like an idiot with a beer stained tank top on and his degenerate children screaming like banshees. His make-up slathered wife sitting next to him clinging to a margarita. Man I hate tubers! Or some straight brimmed hat sporting teenager power turning the new boat daddy bought him to keep him out of the house. Lil Wayne crackling out of the blown out tower speakers. Absolutely disturbing everything and everyone on the lake. Man I hate power turns! I am going to start a petition for my local lake trying to ban power turns. Join the fight for clean water! Stop Power Turns Now! Educate your fellow boaters on the proper method for turning a boat around. Wakeboarders against Power Turns! WAPT

Kinda looks like it but no he has more respect and fear than to pee on the boat.

Lake Pleasant or Canyon Lake. Perhaps you could tell your jet skiing friends as well so they can trail 20 feet behind the rider trying to jump out of the wake.

Please forgive my bitterness, but lakes in Arizona in the summer are terribly crouded. Life has been good for the past few months on my local lake. Actually I was out a month ago and I saw tons of nautiques. There were probably 15 boats on the lake and 12 of them were nautiques. It was crazy!

I'm just messing with you. I spend most of my time on lake Michigan south tip.
With a south or south west wind it can't be beat never a crowd issue.
I used to go to small lakes and had the same problems you talked about.

It is great when you can find a cove or section of lake that is undisturbed. it is not that I don't like sharing the lake. I just don't like inconsiderate people. Nautique should put together something about proper boating etiquety that accompanies any sold boat.

Lake Michigan is pretty cold water, eh? How lon gis your season?

We start may 11 on small lakes then wetsuits until July is the name of the game on the big lake. Its tolerable from June until mid July then 70s until end of season.
We hang out at a power plant when anchored water is 20 degrees plus warmer.

Anyone have any pic's of their tower lights running at night? I'd like to see how much light they project fwd's and backward.
