Anyone ski the KD 7000 or CR7?

    Hey,

I ski with the Virginia Tech water ski team. I have been skiing a connley concept for 4 or 5 years and would never try another ski. This afternoon I was talked into trying a friends KD 7000 CT. It was probably a few years old. On my first run I could tell an imediate difference. This ski is AMAZING...it is much more stable and way quicker on edge than my connelly.

My question is...has the ski changed much over the past few years. What is the difference b/w the CT and other KD 7000 models. How does the newer CR7 and other KD skis compare? If I could find one identical to the ski I rode today KD 7000 CT I would buy it.

I never thought a ski could make that much difference in my performance

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post

THe kd7000 CG's are mostly all the same if not exactly the same. I could never tell a difference riding them. The CT isn't quite as stiff as the CG series, making the CT more forgiving. THe CR7 is even stiffer, and lighter and not nearly as forgiving. The 7000 is a great ski, and used ones can be priced very reasonble or a good deal on a D-3 tightline can be had also. THe tightline is amost identicle to the 7000 with a larger sweet spot, lighter and faster. Both ski's come from Denny Kidder, its just a matter of which company he was with at the time.

    Have fun skiing.

I have a 2000 CR-7, 67" in great condition if you're interested. I really only skied on it 1-1/2 seasons. Its got Large Pivot bindings that are in good condition, I replaced the rear wrap late last year. Let me know if you're interested.

i went from a connelly rocket to the CR7 3 yrs. ago. Huge upgrade and i picked up 3 and 4 bouys consistently in the first few weeks on it. Quicker, lighter, more predictable. the laser fin adjustment is the best. keep dialing it in to fit your ski style. Bindings also didnt give me cramps like the connelly did. Great ski. Good Luck.
