Anyone tried the Monster universal surfboard rack?

Price seems good, and it will fit the small diamter tube of my Gen1 FCT. Plus I like the quick release for easy storage so it does not get stolen. Anyone with pros and cons?

No experience with this particular rack but I have bought several other items from Monster. They have an impeccable reputation when it comes to their products and service - I know they have a no questions asked 30-day return policy on their towers. Drop them an e-mail and ask them if that applies to the racks as well. I was considering one of their new swivel racks but since we mostly surf now I may have to look at the surf rack.

I agree with Red57bird I don't have a monster surf rack but I do have their wakeboard rack and it is great. ZERO complaints and the surf rack looks very similar so It gets my vote.

I have the Monster! wakeboard rack and it's worked great for me! I had it powder coated black and haven't had any issues with it. In my experience I don't have any evidence to NOT endorse it.

Powdered coated black to match the tower, I will definately be doing that.

Mounted the Monster Tower wake surf rack last night and I have to say, I am really impressed. It is a well built product that is rock solid. My only concern is the "hook" that bunge cords grab onto are a bit sharp and I fear they may eventually cut the bunge cords. I like it so much (even the clear anodized finish) that I am probably going to purchase a matching wakeboard rack for the other side of the tower and I will NOT be powder coating black. I will try to take a few pictures to post (if I remember as I am not a camera kind of guy). Props to Monster Tower.

BTW, when I first assembled the rack, I hand tightened the assembly bolts best I could with the included allen wrench. The arms wobbled terribly on the cross tube and I thought uh-oh what a piece of junk. BUT, the instructions clearly state to torque ALL bolts to 22 ft-lbs. Once I did that, everything locked up rock solid. So, I surmise that people who have issue with the Monster Rack might want to make sure the bolts are torqued up properly.

I have two of them and have used for 2 years. Just make sure the keep a key wrench handy as you will need to tighten them often. I got some lock tight and firmed up the screws... Otherwise, they are perfect.
