I have a '77 Ski Nautique with a homemade trailer thats on its last leg. I am thinking of having a new one custom made. Does anyone have experience with having one made and have any recommendations on manufacturers or tips on what to look for?

RE: New Trailer Recommendations
WOW that trailer needs some love. I'm a fan of Ram-lin but I have a Boatmate too, that is think is an OK trailer. There a couple used trailers for sale on this website, might pick something up at half the price.

RE: New Trailer Recommendations
I'm not sure where you are, but I've had good luck with Roadrunner trailers out of the Dallas area. Very reasonably priced and well built.Shane Hill

RE: New Trailer Recommendations
There are a couple manufacturers doing trailers specifically for the older CC's, don't recall the name however.
You may also want to post this up on www.correctcraftfan.com to get some additional input.

Contact McClain trailers in Texas. No point in getting another painted trailer when you can get aluminum for much cheaper and they last forever. I am sure there are trailer builders in your area as well. Look to spend 2500-3500 for a tandem axle 18' long aluminum.

Call Owen Shelton at www.boatmatetrailers.com Tell him Tom from Chattwake referred you and he'll hook you up. I've had numerous trailers from boatmate adn from other manufacturers. IMO, there is no comparison. Plus, the build time is really short this time of year. Owen can make whatever you need, and customize it in more ways than you thought possible.2012 Axis A22 - on order

I would think you should be able to find something that would work without spending an arm and a leg on a brand new trailer. Start calling trailer guys and used boat guys to see who has what. Maybe even call places where they have dry dock storage to see if you can find somebody that just doesn't need a trailer any longer.
