On other thing. If you buy clinchers, buy them one size smaller than you think you need. When they get wet, they stretch, and when they are loose, they don't do much good. BKH

      The third one is $130 Yellow_Flash_Colorz: Yellow_Flash_Colorz: Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

      I'm gonna check into these,

Checked Lake Elmo. Good response but the response was they weren't being made right now. They had the 'last pairs' and Overton's and Bart's were calling looking for them.

Waterskiworld is out. She said they are being promised any time, that there's always a delay every year. Funny that he has a product that can't stay on the shelves and can't figure out how to meet the demand.

Ski Tower. I have a pair of Clinchers, size XL. Use them 4 or 5 times and figures out they are too big for my hands, so I bought a smaller pair. $25 including shipping if you want them. Send me a PM if you are interested. I not, no big deal. BKH

I've got a pair of Clinchers & they are quite valuable when my hands get tired. What I don't like about them is that my handle release takes a small fraction of a second longer with them as compared to regular ski gloves.
While I was skiing with April Coble this spring, she told me not to loose them b/c no one has any. Word on the street is that someone needs to cough up several thousand dollars for the next batch to be sent to manufacturing before any retailers will get a resupply.

A few gym activities I do for my finger/hands strength:
                1) Start with 5lb (I'm at 25lb now) weight, lower arm straight out, palm up. With hand/wrist, pull up. Repeat with palm down, pulling up again.
                2) Find 1"-1.2" dow rod with rope through middle. Start with 5-10lb attached to bottom of rope, and work your way up to 20-25lbs, and rotate dow rod/bar with hands so rope wraps around rod/bar. Go in both directions. My rope is ~4.5' long.

Yep, my one worry about them is once I get up the transition from hand to hand as I ski, but I'll sacrifice that to help me get up.

Thanks for the exercises. I thought about the rope / dowel deal but haven't gotten it together yet. I did get a pair of the spring grip things to squeeze while I do other things like watching TV. I'm assuming you've seen improvement from the exercises and gloves?

How's April's camp? I've thought of giving it a try and maybe taking my son down there. My wife and I rode down there Friday on the off chance the pro shop was open (saw on the Clincher site she was the only NC dealer).

Call April about spending a day at her place. She often has open single dates or sometimes afternoons available for a set. I spent two days there last month and was extremely happy with the results. If your that close your should definatly go, I went a couple times per summer when I lived in Smithfield.

Good news...Masterline has figured out there is a void left by Clincher. Their new gloves called the Pro Locks arrive in Late July / Early August.

Cool. The person at www.waterskiworld.com I talked to said the Clincher guy has a patent which is why these aren't more widespread. But HO, Radar, and now Masterline have definitely come close to it.

I'm curious why HO is dropping out right when Masterline is coming in. I also wonder why if every dealer is screaming for these, why isn't Clincher rolling in the dough? Maybe he's decided to sell the rights to the patent instead of the product.

Update: Tried the Clinchers last week and they did the job. Had no problem holding on. Still didn't get up because I didn't have my Team prop on the boat, instead I had the original SE prop. Not enough pull to get me going...

Also, Lake Elmo Sports let me know they are going to get an order in.

Try getting up with 1 foot in. I am lighter than you at 240 pounds but I can get up behind I/Os although there is some drag. 1 foot in generates much less drag than getting up with two feet. If you are skiing for fun (which we all ultimately are) throw a RTP on your ski and try it with one foot in.
