I would like to try wakesurfing. I recognize my boat (a 216 DD) is not the best for surfing but it just looks like too much fun so I figure I will give it a shot and play with different weighting combinations. I have the small factory ballast tanks, a couple of bags, and some good beer weight buddies.
My question is what is a good beginner to intermediate board that I wont get too bored with quickly (assuming this works). I searched on the forums and got some good info but nothing real definitive and I dont really have anyone I know locally to borrow a board. I even went to Overtons today to see if they had any demos and they didnt even have any wakesurf boards in stock. I am about 5'10" and 165 lbs so I have been looking at smaller boards. I am trying to compare the Obrien Alias 4.6 (cheap), the Hyperlite Broadcast 4.9 and the Liquid Force Venture 5.0. Anyone have any experiences with these (or others) with a small to medium wake. Any info is appreciated.
