Need some input...what are your thoughts on the best ski for beginning slalomer? Currently looking to fit my 8-yr old daughter; 50-60 lbs. She's ready to upgrade to a dedicated slalom ski with a better binding.
I've had good luck for my kids with the HO Revolt - 63". Wiley's sometimes has teh blems for cheap. Get adjustable bindings since kids seem to grow fast.
My daughter skis on an Obrien Siege. She likes it. She tried her brothers HO Xfactor. She likes it better. She is 10 and skis with an open rear toe. The HO has a nicer footbed in the open toe which I think holds her foot in better. As for cutting and performance I don't think she skis aggressively enough to know. Both skis are 61"
Individual preference. My son had a HO Revolt and did okay. I switched him to a Jr. Mapple last year and he has improved immensely. I've always preferred how the O'briens ride. They seem to do more of the work than the HO skis.
