Is BI boom extension worth it?

I've been thinking about adding the BI extension or handle to my boom....to get cleaner water. Water is pretty good but more of it would be better...especially when using the rope with skis, etc.

Who has had good or bad experiences with the extension and/or the handle. My main concern would be any decrease in strength or change in the flexibility. I know the cables have to be lengthened. Also seems like the change in angle makes it harder to rest your feet for feet forward starting.

The handle version is a good idea, but the setscrew feature seams cheezy to me. Maybe that is why I see so many for sale.

    Thoughts?

    I've always used the extension.

The water is definitely cleaner...I like that the grip diameter is smaller...never had any issues on 2 different boats (MC & CC).

I used one. Also your son will like the small grip. It makes easier to hold on. I have a B111 I can sell you. I used it on my 211, but haven't since. PM me if interested. LMK

So I'm hearing two yes votes for the handle version. Does the setscrew mount function okay? Is the grip too small for adults? When you want to attach a rope handle, what do you do?

Anyone have thoughts on the B110 extension that goes in as an insert...not on the end?

        What about using both together?

I have both peices. Adults will be able to use the smaller grip. Set screw works fine.

I needed both for the 211. I only use the B110 being I didn't want to redo the cables and we don't hold the bar that much. If I was using the bar for people to hold onto I would have the B111 on to make it easier.

The insert works well, and there is no problem with strength or flexibility. I think the insert makes it easier to put the boom together in the boat and by yourself.

There should not be a change in the angle of the boom either as long as you change the length of the cables.

I used the insert too, a must have, if you ask me.

I have to disagree that the insert makes the boom easier to get on. When I have the insert on the "end" piece makes it heavier longer. When I have the insert on the piece attached to the boat, I have to stretch further.

I guess it depends on how you put the boom together. If you mount the boom to the pylon and then piece it together, I agree with you.

                      Airtool,

We purchased the insert extention last year. We love it for footin, especially teaching young kids who tend to be more affected/scared of the wake.
