RE: Wakesurfers
My son who is 135 pounds has two boards now. The LF Custom 4'2" and IS Moss. The best boards depends on what you are looking for. The LF is kind of a hybrid board. It is not a true skim board. It might be a little faster than the Inland board but not as spinney. MY son like the Moss the best. If you are looking for a hybrid look at the IS Sweet Spot. It is very fast and will spin. None of these are surf style. The closet may be the Sweet Spot. I like Surf style boards. IS Blue lake is one of the best all around boards. I currently have the IS Swallow which is a performance model of teh Blue Lake. I am almost 250 ponds and have a med. wake and it works great. My next board will probably be a Walker board. They have the wake stuff dialed in.

I have never spent anytime on a skim board. I hear people that like skim style boards also like a less steep wake but that is just what I have heard. The boards you are looking at are a step above Hyperlite Broadcast or boards like that. I have been told that boards with three fins are not as fast as two. I am not sure that is true because my Swallow is faster with four fins than two. It is best if you can test before you buy. Or buy at a price you can sell if you do not like the board.

RE: Wakesurfers
both the LF Custom and the Skim Moss are pretty advanced trick boards. Good for spins, carving, etc. I suck at jumping, but it is likely my weight as much as ability and the board. If you are just learning, these are probably not the boards for you.the WakeSlayer

RE: Wakesurfers
The problem buying a board that fits your level is you progress pretty fast. Many people start with a board like the Broadcast. Very stable and you can surf it. Most people out grow it very quickly. Then you have to decide what type of board you want to ride. It seems this has a lot to do with who you ride with. If they have skim boards that's where you go. If they have surf style that is where you go. Then there is your size and the size and shape of your wake. I am fat and started out with a small wake from a direct drive. Really the only option was surf style. First purchase after Broadcast was IS Red Tide. New boat SV 211 and a bigger wake. Next board was an upgrade to the Ride Tide (little different shape). Next board was the IS Swallow. I really like this board but then went on a fat guy demo day with Wake9 and rode several Walker Boards. They seem to be a step up from IS in design. IS quality may be more durable. We also have an IS Green board that is a little small for me but most people like it that are under 200 lbs. I would try a few boards before you buy or you could spend a lot of money finding what works. I found last year models are a much better buy.

Not sure I would get either as a first board or boat board. Both are nice boards but they are also pretty fragile boards. I had a LF custom and liked it but was always worried that it would bet beat up if I let others use the board. I have the same issue with my Inland Surfer Black Pearl 4skim yellow. The old 2005 CWB Tsunami is a good boat board, I can spin it, carve it, and don't worry about it getting beat up when I let others use it. I am currently looking to trade the CWB for a Hyperlite Broadcast 5'6", looking for a bigger board so I can tandem ride with my kids in my arms. It will also double as my loaner/beginner board. Having a bigger board is key until you really get your wake dialed. I would not go with anything less than 4'8", 5'0" to 5'6" might be better but you will probably be looking for a smaller board in one or two seasons.
