    Dry Suit Question

I am trying to find a dry suit for both water skiing and sailing. The sailing suits include reinforced knees and butt, and have feet, the water ski suits do not. Dumb question but I am assuming that dry suits with feet will not work for skiing. If this is the case then I need to just get a ski suit and find a way to protect it when dinghy sailing. Thoughts?

I do not know about the sailing drysuit,I have two drysuits one for use and one spare. There a must living in Vermont.I have also trashed two other suits in my younger days, if you get the style with rubber neck, arm and leg holes make sure to keep the seals pliable with silicone and grease the zippers. Also in our younger days we tried to use the rubber booties that are out there. Not the kind for diving with insulation and a sole on the bottom. These were just straight up form fitting rubber booties.I know nothing about skiing but when we tried to use these for boarding it never worked.Either they would get so twisted and bunched up when putting your bindings on, our they would make it much easier to just slide right out of your bindings.hope this helps.

I just bought the new Eagle dry suit. It is awesome! Your'e completely free in it. It has a front zipper so you can get in and out with no help. And it's LIGHT.

a ski dry suit is so tight around the ankles you wont have to worry about water getting in....just get your feet wet, no problem getting them to fit in your binding and your good to go

I wear 7mm neoprene diving booties when I'm putting the docks and lifts in/out of the water or when I climb back into the boat (as they sit in a cooler of hot water!). While skiing, barefoot is fine, even down into the 30s.

My wife has a suit we got from Adrenaline in Seattle that has boots as well as extra reinforcement in the knees and seat. It's made for hydrofoiling, but sounds like what you are looking for. My suit was on sale and I didn't get any of the extra goodies, but it only cost me half as much. After a couple of years of use I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the boots, I get by just fine with some surf boots over my suit and her boots are kinda like clown shoes. They work fine, but require 2 people to get them into the ski, and for walking anywhere but in the boat she has to have shoes on or the suit off.
