How are you folks out there storing your boards at home? Shortly I'll have 6 boards (5 wake/1 surf), and I'm wondering what my commercially bought VS home built options are. Preferrable I'm guessing I'd like something wall mountable in my garage or shed. Thanks for any input.

homemade wake or ski rack
I have to start this by saying this rack was not my idea or project.I have to give total credit to my man Frank (got me back in to wake and boats after a long Hyades). This rack is in his shed on my campground.I will get a pic tomorrow.Go to disneyland or LaLa Land (lowes) or my preference your local hardware or lumber store and get two 2 X 4 X 8's make sure they are nice and straight. You will also need some dowel 3/4 or 1 inch will work great.get two feet of dowel for every board you want to place in the rack.IE six boards get twelve feet of dowel. You might actually want to get a foot or so of extra dowel so when you cut the pieces you can make all the ends nice and square.Line up the two 2x4's side by side.I would shave off a 1/4 inch on each end so they are nice and square as well.but it's not necessary. You will need a good drill and a wood boring drill bit that matches up to your dowel size.Start a couple inchI have to start this by saing this rack was not my idea or project.I have to give total credit to my man Frank (got me back in to wake and boats after a long Hyades). This rack is in his shed on my campground.I will get a pic tomorrow.Go to disneyland or LaLa Land (lowes) or my preference your local hardware or lumder store and get two 2 X 4 X 8's make sure they are nice and straight. You will also need some dowel 3/4 or 1 inch will work great.get two feet of dowel for every board you want to place in the rack.IE six boards get twelve feet of dowel. You might actually want to get a foot or so of extra dowel so when you cut the pieces you can make all tes from the bottom of the 2x4 nd drill a hole in each side by side you can drill the holes at a 90 degree angle but I would drill at more like at 15 or 20 upward degree angle so the boards are sure to stay on the rack when on the wall.drill more holes side by side continuing up the 2x4 leaving enough room in between for a wakeboard with bindings on.If you are putting a wakesurf or wakeskate it will take much less space leaving more room for another board or even a ski.make sure not to drill all the way through the 2x4.3/4 of an inch should be enough.put a piece of electrical tape 3/4 of an inch up the drill bit to help you measure depth.clean out the holes to be sure they are free of sawdust.Put a little wood glue in each hole and jam the dowels in.Let the glue dry overnight.Stain to suit your needs(also not necessary).Place a piece of pipe insulation over each dowel to protect your ride.hang on the wall side by side about 30 inches apart should do it.I will try and get a couple pics tomorrow to help visualize.
supplies and tools needed:
2- 2x4x8
2 feet of dowel for every board or ski 3/4 or 1 inch
2 feet of pipe insulation for every boards or ski match to size of dowel
wood glue
stain if you choose
tape measure
drill
wood boring drill bit to match the size of your dowel
saw
screws or nails to mount the rack
level to mount the rack

I didn't have the wall space, but had plenty of ceiling space.. So I made this. Keeps them well out of the way and they can drip dry.. I also added some hooks to hang my vests and towels.. I had to add on to the end so that my shorter wakeskate and surfskate could go up there too. Easily holds 4-5 boards plus wakeskates..
Just wood and screws!06\' SANTE 210

great movie, no doubt ... yeah, they are just resting against the wall on the backside. you could put something back there to protect the wall, but if placed up there gently its not really a problem2003 SANTE - "OG 210"

Display grids work great and look really cool. I have two spaced about 10" apart and attached to my wall with "screw head zip ties". I've got four boards, two surfers and two skis on them. Unfortunately there are lots of shops closing so the grids should be easy to find.
