Fly High Super Air Nautique Additional Ballast

To start off, I have a 09 SAN 230 and the wake isn't as big as I want for surfing. I have been looking at this system for some time now.

Has anyone installed/used this system? It comes with 1 Tsunami Pump, 1 Fat Brick, All the fittings, 2 Pro X Series V-Drive Sacs, and 1 Pro X Series Integrated Bow Sac. It adds 1600 lbs in additional ballast and ties into all the factory pumps.

I have some other questions. Is it safe to add 1600 extra lbs. to the boat? Does it work well with the factory pumps (does it shut off when both bags are full and it starts bilging)?

    Thanks in advance.

I had sacks piggy backed in my 210 (08) they were the same size as the v drive sacs. I actually upgraded this year and took the hard tanks out of my boat and replaced it all with 750 sacks. I would think as big as the storage is in the 230 you could go with 750's instead of 400's.

Sure its safe to put that much weight in the boat. I think the pros are really loading those down. I was told they put just enough weight so it will plain off with only one person but if you add more people they have to take out ballast weight.

I have this system in my 08 210. It works very well and is much better than running lead weight. If I were you I would not buy the complete system (You won't need the fat brick or the pump and will save a couple hundred by purchasing seperate). There is a group buy going on right now that will save you 20% off the bags and fittings. I would also upgrade to the 750 lb V drive bags rather than the 400 lb bags (especially in a 230). I have the 750 lb bags in the locker and also the V shaped bag that goes in the nose on my boat. I am not sure about the 230 but in my 210 the bag under the front seats does not have enough room to fill all the way.You can get the instructions on how to install the system from fly hgh. All you have to do is give them a call and them will email them right over to you. Also do a search on this sight for Fly High addtional ballast system and you should find some more info on it. I know myself and many others are running this system in our boats and have not had any issues with it. As far as your concerns with running the extra weight that is ENTIRELY YOUR CALL. I have no issues with running it in my 210 but I am also sure that no boat manufacturer would reccomend it just for liabilty issues. There are thousands of people running a lot extra weight in their wake boats everyday without any concerns. You may need to upgrade your prop if your boat does not have a power prop on it, but if it is a team edition than it should already have the power prop. Here is a link to the group buy going on now that will save you some bucks. BTW lets see some pics of that new ride. Also reguarding your question about the pumps shutting off you just have to cycle the pumps another time after they turn off the first time to fill the extra sacs.

if i were you, i'd like look at getting 2 of the 750lb fly high sacs for the rear starboard and port compartments. you can easily fit those in the storage areas even with the factory tanks still in there. i would want those over the 400lb vdrive sacs.

i have 2 for my 230 and can completely fill each one the back compartments with ease.

        my 2 cents.

also, regarding the Tsunami pump. i would DEFINITELY invest in one of those. it is $99, but they fill 750 lbs like LIGHTNING and it is super easy to use. i doubt you will find another pump out there that is as fast and as easy to use.

FWIW - i would just buy the components individually, you might save some.

I have the fly high system installed in my 09 230 team and I love it, I do have the 750's in the rear and I can tell you that I have a big problem with my the boat porposing. I reall feel that the boat need more weight in the nose when wakeboarding. The system works great and I never have to fill any extra bags with pumps.

I just installed an additional ballast system in my 236 this weekend. I looked for several weeks before ordering a system and wanted to put some more weight in the rear compartments than the standard Fly High Nautique system, I also did not need the extra pump and Brick that came with it. I went with 2 of the rear seat sacs for the rear compartments, I think that they are 500lbs a piece, and an intergrated bow sac. I took it out on Sunday after installing it all and was supprised at out good everything fit. The wakesurf wake is huge, I did not get a chance to wakeboard, the water is still a little cold here. The intergrated bow sac fit good in the compartment, but it could have been a little bigger, I have some extra space that the sac did not fill up and the boat has a lot of bow rise with the rear sacs full.

In all the system worked great, and for a 230/236 the 500lb rear seat sac is the best way to go!!!!

Did you guys all leave in the factory tanks or pull them out? Any reason why? I think I'm going to put two 750s in the rear and the 650lb integrated bow sac in the front but I don't want a problem with porposing. Any comments would be appreciated.

I would like to know how you guys are weighing your 230's. I'm fixing to get my third one and I still haven't figured out how to weigh this thing heavy yet. Seems like when I put enough weight in the back it porpoises and when I put enough weight in the front to keep the boat from porpoising, the wake washes. I think I'm going to re-prop the new boat right out of the chute to see how that affects things.

Not sure if anyone had noticed but fly high is now offering the arrow shaped locker sac as a standard item now. they made it for some people last year as a custom but you can order it on ebay and from them now. not sure about the weight but looks like a good idea if you want to keep the storage in the bow usable. im thinking about selling my bow sac and getting one of these instead.

Have you weighted your boat yet? How about the prop exchange? I am wanting to do two 750's in the lockers and 650 in tbe bow, but I am afraid of getting 2150 lbs of ballast in the boat and not liking the finished product.

Installing the rear 400's and bow arrow belly sack now on my 2006 220 SANTE with stock tanks. Will update in a few days on how it goes. Trying to figure out a way to fold them up on the side to use the space when I need it without disconnecting.

Noticed I may need to cap the inside of the rub rail screws as they are pocking through the fiber glass and could puncture the bags.

I simply cut the over flow line on the rear and put the sack in the middle. Hope to do the same on the front sack.
                          Do the right thing.......

Will belly sack (arrow) work for 2010 and up 230s

I recently ordered a 230 and should be getting it next week. Can anyone confirm that the Fly High rrow sack works for the 2010 and newer 230s. I have confirmation that the 2010 and 2011 are set up the same so if anyone can confirm that it works in the 2010 that would be great. I know there was a change is 2009 but don't know what the change was. Thanks

if you put 750's on each side in the rear you def. need at least 1000lbs in the bow.
