    Drilling holes through a Tower

I know this my sound like an odd question, but can you drill a hole into our towers to install and eye hook?

I was thinking of installing a few eye hooks on my tower, so that I could bungee my extra surfbords onto it.

Thoughts? Am I insane for even thinking of drilling a couple of holes?

    Thanks.

I personally wouldn't risk it. At best, it'll hurt resale. At worst, you could hit a structure point and the thing could collapse. Do a little searching and find some clamps to do the same thing.

Plenty of people have drilled into their towers to install speakers or tower lights.

I did it last year on my 02 SAN and I would recommend that you use the right drill bit.

If you want to see what others have done search on tower wiring and read Mikeski's post.

        Hope that helps.

depending on the type of tower, you may be able to bungee directly on top of the tower (If you have two points of contact for the boards). I have seen people use pipe insulation as a padding. I have the endless wave racks and love them

You may want to also drill big enough to use a rubber grommet where the wires go through.

There are racks that clamp to tower NO drilling required.
