Can I get some advice on a hood to go with my wetsuit. O neill has some and there's also Seasoft hoods . I just want some protection for my ears when I fall
Tried the O'neil hood a couple of times and could never get it to work right. Problem was when you come up out of the water on a slalom ski the hood buckets water and actually pushes cold water into your ears. Don't imagine it would be as bad in a single boot or on a wakeboard but a no go with double boots on a slalom.
They have one called a squid lid (hate the name) that I can get for $20 bucks. Not sure how good it will be, since it has a strap that goes under your neck and I can't seeing that staying on after going down.
I use a neoprene hood I purchased at a dive shop. It drastically reduces your hearing ability and does take some time to get used to it. However, once you have, you will really like it. I also got a thin fleece liner to go inside and my head stays toasty warm. In Decemeber when we did the Freeze for Life in Rockford, IL, the air was 38 and the water was about the same. My head was nice and warm. Total price $10 from the used bin at the dive shop. They had dozens to chose from. The fleece was another $10.
Just ready to go take a footin(actually a shoe'n) run. I have neoprene boots also bought at the dive shop for $15
