    Slalom Ski for Smaller Kids

I plan to get my son off of two skis and onto a slalom ski this year. He started to slalom late last year on an old combo ski, but I would like to get him into a real slalom ski this year.

The only thing I have seen has been the HO Judge ski. However, at 61" this still seemed a bit long for his size. He is 7 years old, 50" tall and about 60 pounds.

Trying to keep him from wakeboarding exclusively.

The O'Brien Jr Siege comes in 59 or 62. Based on the Sixam. The bindings might be the hard part to get one small enough. My boy didn't slalom until he was 9 and was able to use the single from our Obrien Performer "guest" set. They are 67's.

My kids, 9 &11 ride both the O'brien Siege @61" and the HO Judge @61" They have been using them for a couple seasons as they were the smallest I could fine. Performance wise they are either the same or the kids aren't good enough to notice a difference. The nex jump in performance is going to problably an expensive D3

Both my kids rode small obriens when they were Jr's. My daughter rode a 62" Mapple for years until she went over to a Goode. My son still rides a Obrien. I would have to agree on the Jr Siege for a next step. They will not have a problem with the bigger ski but they will out grow it sooner then you want them too!

I have a Connelly Little Easy that is 500 sq in that i would be willing to sell. As i recall shipping was like $70 UPS for the last buyer that was interested.

My middle son started on the HO Judge when he was 6 and just went to a D3 last summer (he's 9 now). He loved the Judge and was able to run the full course at 28mph with it. I would highly recommend it, it's a great ski.

From everything that I have heard the HO Judge sounds like the ski for my son. Now I just need to find somebody with one for sale. If I am connecting the dots correctly, I believe I saw your son ski this fall behind the Sport 200 during Silver Sprays demo day of the Sport 200. I bet the boys were happy with their Christmas present.

Yep, that was him. That was the day that sealed our fate of becoming a Nautique owner. He did the polar ski on Dec 4th on Silver Lake and Silver Spray had it sitting on the ramp all decorated in Christmas bows with the boys name on it. They were very surprised to say the least. They still can't believe it. They love to ski, wakeboard, and surf and it's the first boat we found that can do all 3 really well. Every other boat we've had compromised one or the other.

Good luck on the Judge, I think you'll be happy with it.
