    Starter Ski Strap

Two questions: does anybody know where I can get one of those hard rubber straps that let you connect two skis to help newbies? Can't find one at Overtons and my ski's didn't come with one, though they do have inserts to screw them down.

And second: does anybody use it? Trying to get my son up (11) and I think that would help a lot. Wondering what everybody's methods are. I'm super happy he's trying.

And a bonus: he's on the larger side of 11, a 9 1/2 foot. He's using my 67" combos because his foot won't fit in the next size trainers down. Opinions?

Forget the skis and let him foot. He and his future girlfiriends will think it is much cooler than skiing.

We use our barefoot boom to teach with double skis; we also connect the two skiis together with eyelet screws and rope. If he is strong enough to keep the skiis together rope is probably not necessary. After success holding onto the boom, we put the skier on the 5' rope on the boom and after success with that the back of the boat. Good luck!

For that one, the skis have to have the threaded holes already.

have the holes...that's exactly what I need. Thanks. Can't imagine why Overton's doesn't carry it.

And thanks for the advice. Might break out the boom again. He's been on it with the wakeboard but I'm not sure how well it worked with that...
