    fly high does not fit

I just purchased a used fly high pole and it is very tight on the pylon and it does not go down far enough. Any thoughts? Sell and get a new one. This is on a 97 ski Nautique.I

I don't know if this applies to all poles but some have a pin that is used to make it a higher pole (7 ft from the floor). If the pin is inserted, the pole will not go all the way down to the floor. With the pin removed, it will go down but it will be shorter (6 ft from the floor).

It may be a silly question but have you checked the inside of the pole to make sure there is nothing in there? The one I have has a small amount of foam/padding at about the waist level (from the floor up) to protect the top of the pylon. Since you bought it used, perhaps the previous owner added some padding to it, which may or may not affect how far down it goes and maybe even how smooth the pole mounts on the pylon.

I believe the Nautique pylon is about 1/8" larger diameter than most common ski pylons. Where are you? I might be interested in buying the pole off you for my MB slalom boat? I'm in San Ramon.
