I ride two very distinct skim/surf boards a Shred Stixx Custom and a Phase 5 Danielo Carbon. I haven't ridden the Model X but I like the idea, Phase 5 makes a great board. If it is true to what is supposed to be I'm sure it's a ton of fun.

I was lucky enough to ride with some of the Phase 5 crew on the Wakeoutlaws boat and kept in contact. They are telling me I can blind buy this board and never look back. I hope so.

If you get one, please post your opinons back on the Carbon X. I was told it would have been too big for me, ~175 # and wife 120#, so I went with a Triple X Nitro 4'8". Only have one quick set on it, but it's fun. We have a Grindwater Ginsu, and Shaka in our riding group, so wanted a different one to try.

You r too lite in the loafers for an X, you'd have to jump up and down to slow it down it. I had a few triple X's for about 2 days at a time. I got 3 in damaged in a row and just told them to refund me. Some of the Towanza crew ride them and love them. If I was as lite as you I would be all over Danielo Pro Carbon, seen some amazing stuff pulled on that board.

Ordered today, I'll post my findings in about a week. Towanza has been great with my million questions.

Looking forward to hearing all about it (lake water here was 58 on Saturday, we'll be suiting up for our first sessions).

Yeah, as you say, Towanza is great. I worked with Todd on a board purchase in 2009; he had IS make up a Black Pearl with 3 fins (for my kid as a beginner); we have since removed the 2 outside fins and he still loves it.

Water temps here in Texas are mid 70's. Being Todd is local to me I got to ride with him and the Phase 5 crew in the past on an Enzo with so much ballast it was nerve racking when the boat stopped. I got my order in just in time, in a month anything Carbon Fiber goes to 3-4 weeks out.

VERY well made, and let add the plug. Todd at ToWanZa is top notch.

And my first hickey. I'm beyond upset, don't know how or who did it but it's only skin deep.

Yep Carbon but it didnt get that deep, just clouded the top layer of resin, so i'm told by the founder of Phase 5.
