I left the carpet boards in and routed the drain/fill hose around the board next to the outside and it fit around the board without cutting the board.

When my tank collapsed bending my sending unit we were running while emptying. I think this increased the suction. To fix the problem I am installing a Watts N36 vacuum breaker next weekend. I'll keep you posted.

I think your correct about running while emptying! As sturdy as these tanks are I always found it hard to believe they would collapse but sure enough I found out I had a bent sending unit on my port side last weekend! Those sending units aren't light weight either! Do let the forum know what you find out with the vacuum breaker please!

I have them right here at my desk just need to get to the boat. When water pressure is applied it seals, when sucking empty it will open and let air in. My only concern is will it open and not let the bag get sucked dry??? We'll see!

Where's that get hooked up? To the factory tank as a separate fitting (or is it in the vent / overflow line?)

I am going to tee it off the line between the hard tank and the sac. That way after the sac has flattened it will allow air into the hard tank.

That is how I would hook it up also. I'm guessing it takes some amount of negative pressure for it to open up correct? Your concern about whether or not it would let the sack empty out has me wondering the same thing. Are you able to use your mouth to suck open the breaker? Not sure I worded that correctly

Have you got the T fitting with 2 barbs and a female thread? Biggest i can find is an irrigation style at 1/2".

I tried to find a vacuum break that worked with a barbed connection but had no luck . . .

I been selling these for 20ish years and you won't find a barbed on. Get a barbed fip adpt. The ones I carry in stock have a light spring but I have been in contact with the manufacture and they are getting me some stiffer springs, trick is not too stiff.
