Your right. Further irony: The Brentwood Corn Festival Five
miles down the road is one of the social highlights of the year out
    here.
At least you have roads...we only have dirt paths here in Iowa. With Idiots Out Wandering Around on them. Yellow_Flash_Colorz: lol

I can safely say we don't have a corn festival in the QCA.

      IAHAWK and 2WIN,

I was surfing around the net today.

EVOGEAR.COM has two or three wakeboards for $99 which
would be good beginner boards. These included the
Obrien Oasis, Liquid Force Flight, and Liquid Force DLX (probably
the squirreliest of these boards). They have in sizes over 140 cm
      to accomodate 2win.

They have LF flight suction bindings which are a one size fit all
      for $69.

They also have Obrien Ion binding which were a pretty high
end binding last year for just $79. These are stiff, and will
take some breaking in. They also run on the small side.
I'm a 10.5 but I would need and XL in this boot.

Anyway, not bad prices on some stuff to get you going.

        Great Site...Thanks!!

I was going to get the 2005 CWB Sol with Mobe bindings for $279, but I see they have a 2004 CWB Nirvana w/ Mobe bindings for only $249. Hmmmm....

I've found there is too much to choose from in this sport.

          IAHAWK,
I started wakeboarding last year and we bought the Nirvana w/ the red/grey bindings.. I think those are the Mobe.. $249's a good price and we have been happy with the board. it's a good beginners board (IMHO).. but I am just a beginner! so, there's my 2 cents worth!

Well, I got my board. Went with the CWB 141 sol with mobe bindings. Tried it out for the first time this weekend. Got up on the first try!!!! Once I was up I had a hard time keeping my balance over wakes. The lake was pretty busy so I decided to stop. I will have to go sometime when the water is more calm. My neck is feeling the effects from the falling today.

Overall the board seemed fine. I did notice my feet were killing me, like there wasn't any blood going to them. Not sure if this is normal or I just had them too tight. Anyway, I look forward to getting back out there and improving.

Hawk, Glad you found your board.

You probably just had the boots on too tight.

Face plants are certainly and integral part of the wakeboard "fun." I wish I could say you'll stop doing them, but it's more likely your neck will just get used to them.

There's an easy way to keep your balance going over the wakes - just jump over them

                Have fun
