You had it. You just waited to long to pump and catch-up after you did it.

Second time you had the sweet spot but lost track of the boat and over rotated. I look like an owl I have to watch the boat the whole time or I will over do it everytime.

I got the rotation down, just can't seem to catch the wave.
Going to try a slower beginner to intermediate board to see if that will allow me to catch up to the boat.

Post your 360 attempts If you have them.

As you come around and complete the 3 shift your weight back to your front foot, get on your toe edge. On these skim boards the fin and bottom of the board are only going to help you keep spinning. Much like a snowboard, to regain control you must throw it back on edge.

It looks like you may be able to get a little closer to the front of the wave before you spin too. Looks like you are starting in the middle and getting pushed out the back as you spin. On that style board the other thing you could try is just spinning to 180, digging the heal edge in backside, and then let the wave push you around the second 180. It's a little harder to learn but gives you better board control and slower rotation. Switch backside always give me fits, but it's a cool feeling when you get the 180 and then feel the wave still pushing backside. One of the guys we surf with does an even better trick that you can build up to if you do the 180 method. Not sure the correct name for it but it's like and ali-oop 3 where he airs to backside 180 and then continues around the 3. I'll try to see if I can get a video from him of it.
