    Which board

I'm 5'10 160 pounds and love to ride. But I caught an edge twice last summer on my hyper lite and started wake skating instead.

Can you guys recommend a good board that a little more forgiving on the edge catching?

Some boards are more forgiving than others, but there is probably another culprit here too.

What model Hyperlite are you riding currently? How fast are you riding? Are you catching your toe edge or heel edge? Is this just when riding and turning, or after a jump or trick?

Which Hyplerlite were you riding last season? Edge catches are going to happen but you can get a decent sense for how susceptible a board is to edge catching by looking at the rail of the board. The thicker and rounder the rail is towards the middle of the board the less likely it will be to catch an edge. This will also slow the board down when edging into the wake so most board shapers try to find a balance between this with sharper edges at the tip and tail that mellow out towards the middle. The Liquid Force PS3 is a great example of this and probably the most forgiving board I ever rode. The LF Witness is another great all around board that is pretty forgiving. These shapes have been around for a long time and part of the reason is because they work for a lot of different ability levels and they are definitely boards that you can progress on.

LF Trip. It has a rail that's really sharp at the tip and tail but rounded in the middle so you never catch an edge. It's also a continuous board so it rides really fast on the water. I bought this board just to try it out because everyone said it was the best entry-level board out there. And that is definitely true! After riding this I don't think I will ever use a 3-stage board, I just really like the consistency of the continuous rocker.

Return it! Ronix one modello on sale for same price at buy wake. Rounded "surf style" rail in the middle super forgiving sideways. (I'm kidding about returning it ... This is just information for people in the future if they were wanting some other choices)

I would agree with the ONE. It has a 3 stage rocker, but very forgiving when edging, and the larger rocker allows it to ride deeper in the water.

With that being said I did just order a 2013 Harley with special edition Harley boots for $599. So I guess I don't listen to my own advice. Couldn't pass that deal up though.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the Harley when you get it. I still really like my S4 so I think I will ride that again this season and then probably try something new next year. The new ONE and Harley are two of the boards I would like to try out. I liked but didn't love the older ONE(07 or 08 I think) but the board has changed quite a bit since then so I want to try it again.

Ill post a review once a get a few sets on it. My last stick was a 06-07 one with one boots. It's just soooo slow. Apparently they greatly improved that with the new shapes of the one. Everyone in my crew rides the Harley and at that price I just couldn't say no. If I hate it I will be selling for a new ronix one for sure.

Warning Ronix Ones do not handle landing in the flats well, tails tend to snap off.

What year is the last Ronix one you have ridden? The early models had some issues, but the new ones seem so bulletproof to me.
