    Another help me board question

I have a question. I think I have settled on the inland surf but don't know since this will be my first surf board purchase if I should get the tako or the swallow.

I am beginner/intermediate rider but what am I really getting for the price difference

I have ridden several friends boards and that's how I have landed at this conclusion.... Now it's down to price I have not ridden a tako.

?? Anyone's thoughts even though this is the millionth similar post

One 5'0" x 20" wide and the other is 5"3" x 20.5" and they look fairly similar in shape and nose but the Swallow looks like it has a longer, more gradual taper from the nose to the board's widest point (have to see them to compare that and the edge), but I am thinking the Tako would be able to spin more easily.

Been happy with my Swallow V2, haven't tried the Tako

reccomend you go with the more agressive board.... if you are up and riding ropeless.... you will likely progress very quickly this summer and wish you had gone with the faster more maneuverable Swallow. All of these are expensive.... hard to pay $500 for an intermediate to go 2 months later to the $700 more agressive board. Learn on the faster one right off the bat. My 2 cents.

I ride the sweet spot. Love it! My friends learn quick with it as well.
It's not too fast but forgiving

Maybe put part of the question in the subject line e.g. "Q: inland surfer vs. tako or swallow?"

No problem. If everyone had a subject line like that, we wouldn't be able to organize any of it. And just think how many people with valuable information went right past your thread because they didn't get hooked.

Huge fan of the inland surfer brand boards. Currently own the black pearl and the tako. Just bought the tako last week to replace the Ronix Koal for all the "beginner" surfers to ride. Couple thoughts. First- the board is significantly faster than what me and other riders expected. Very pleased w/ the speed of the board. Using two speed fin configuration. Second- we can literally surf 15 feet behind the boat. For beginners it is much more forgiving. Last- the board is only $399. Feel much more comfortable with friends learning on this board versus the black pearl. it will be much more durable. My advice- get both!
