Wakesurf Boards and wake shape

Ok all you surfers I'm giving myself a headache trying to figure what I need! Help! So I'm now in my new G23 so wake shaping and size really isn't an issue though I'm wondering what style or size board I need to get farther back from the boat? I like carving the wake so having a longer run would seem more fun! I am 6'2" and 210lbs and I'd say at least an intermediate rider. I have a Hyperlite Landlock 5'11" just because of my older boats not having great wakes to surf, plus I have just been too lazy to spend the money. Anyway, I'm looking to advance my riding and need to pick a new board. I believe I like a surf style board over a skim as I don't plan to do spins more than just carving.

I am looking the Byerly Hazard, Shred Stixx Airstream or Headband, or the Inland Surfer Swallow v2. Anybody got any feedback on these boards or others for my style and size? I guess I have been worried about going below a 5'4" because of my size, any feed back is appreciated. TIA!

Swallow V.2 is very fast, especially with a 4 fin set up. I am now riding with 2 small 3" fins to enjoy the loose feel.

My experience has been that the wakeboard Co's don't produce great surf boards, albeit this is probably changing. I'm of similar size (6'5 / 220) and the Inland Surfer squirt is a great hybrid surf/skim type board. I'm on a much smaller wake though, (sport 200) so would imagine you have lots of options to choose from. Inland Surfer also has a great online "board selector" if you haven't tried that already...

Shy on weight by 10 lbs. If you need a more buoyant board, try the Blue lake or the Red Rocket also by IS.

V2 would be pick as well and I'm 20 lbs above you, ok maybe 30 if I had a big lunch

If your willing to experiment with a skim-style board then I suggest the Phase 5 Model X. It's a skim-style board but it has a "fishtail" rear end that holds you into the wave like a surf board. I can't do any spins or anything but it is a really good carving board. Also, because it's smaller you can play around with ollies and airs and stuff like that. With the G your wave is going to be so big that you can get away with using a skim-style board to just carve.

Model x is my everyday board and is great, but it is not a surf style and will pearl quite a bit and it hard to pump. But if u give it gas it will out run the boat. Love the board!

I can Chime in on the Shred Stixx. A buddy of mine was some how affiliated with them a while back and let me borrow/keep a couple. Ive got the 2010 Hazen Pro model and the Rebecca Ort Pro model. Both are set up with the 4 fins. The Hazen has them all installed and the Ort i am only running the front 2. I am smaller at 5'5'' and mainly ride the Ort. Both boards are awesome. Running 4 fins on these style of boards makes them super tight and super fast. Very easy to surf. Drop the back fins you will lose a bit of push but are really able work the board. Since having these Ive really become partial to the surf style board. The amount of speed you can generate is awesome.

I have a Inland Surfer sweet spot pro and it's great. I am a beginner but I think it allows me to grow and I like how responsive it is compared to something like the Hyperlite Broadcast (which is slow and sluggish). I can fall back with the sweet spot, ride all over the wave and really pick up speed. I do have a propensity to dunk that nose though. LOL.

I have a Soulcraft on order for my wife as a gift. They are very highly recommended amongst the wakesurfers, might be worth a look see too.

Soulcraft is a great board (might be the best surf style out) but talk about fragile, buy sun cure by the case.
