do you use a center fin on your wakeboard yes or no?

we just started riding a hyperlight B-side this year. I am thinking about removing the center fin any thoughts?

All rider preference. Looser feel and earlier release without the fin. Many modern boards actually no longer have center fins as many are quad fin set ups. Definitely give it a try.

I agree that you should definitely give removing it a try. I much prefer the looser feel. Removing the center fin can also help you to break yourself of bad habits and starting your edge too hard. If you try to edge in hard from way out you may slip out if in the past you were used to relying on the center fin to hold your edge. If that is the case then removing the center fin will force you to be patient when starting your edge in and help you to make a good progressive cut at the wake.

I've been riding boards with molded in fins pretty much since they were introduced in the industry. Before that, as small of a fin as I could find. I also prefer 3-stage rocker and as much of it as possible. I like a slick, skatey feel on my boards. IMHO it will help you edge correctly if you're not relying on the fins to hold your tracking either. Right now I'm riding the Wakeology Stoke 137. It has smaller molded fins than all of my previous boards, but it still holds edge just as well. Has great release off the wake and figiving when I land a bit off.

With all that said, it's really personal preference. Give it a try, but give yourself some time getting used to it. At first it will feel loose, but if you edge correctly that should subside.

I ride a liquid force witness first thing i did was throw that centre fin away.
