I am looking at buying a hyper late broadcast surfboard off of a guy. does anybody know if that would be a good board for my family to get started surfing on?

It's a pretty good starter board in my opinion. If you can get it for a good deal I would jump on it.Shawn

Any of the potential riders much over 200 lbs? If not I'd go for the smaller one as it will be more fun to ride. The bigger one will be easier to catch the wave, especially for bigger people.Shawn

For what it's worth, my son, 13yrs old, 95 lbs. tried the broadcast, landlock, and the shim behind a G23. He preferred the shim over the other two. Felt like it was more of a "crossover" style that works better behind our boat with a smaller wake. Was hard doing an honest demo behind a G when your wake is half the size, but he seems pleased with his choice.
