I'm looking to attach a permanent bumper to dock, so I can drive in and out without throwing bumpers over the side of boat. I'm looking for the best quality, thickest bumper to protect the boat. Seems like most that attach are only 2" thick and would need a bumper too. Thanks,

We've used a profile almost the same as this one...

But not for a drive in lift type dock, more of an open mooring dock but found it to be excellent, the foam core gives you peace of mind if you come in a little hot. a couple of those round ones at the front as well would be great IMO.
The one above says 7cm and i estimate the one we used was 3" ish.2008 210

If you are in or near a larger city, go to the local fire department maintenance facility and get some 3-5" cotton jacket fire hose. Screw it into the dock in a ribbon format and you are good to go. Most of the time they will have a large pile of old hose for free if they have a lot of fire/yr. The city I read for had fires daily so there was always a good supply.

We are in a cove , so fairly protected. Also, I need something with not too many screws it can even be sectional to cover about 20ft, maybe something every 3 or 4 feet. My rub rail is probably about 12" from top of dock . Thanks!

A lot depends on the dock height and water conditions. Will there be rollers or are you in a protected cove?

Pkkup, nah I'm in Aus and can't be sure it's the same brand, to be honest I don't even know what brand we used, but that was the closest match I could find to show the type we used. I too would be apprehensive about a 2" bumper if you can get something around 3".
