I have a friend who is just learning to board and I was curious on how do you recommend the bindings should be setup. I have my board so whichever way you ride it is the same. The board that she rides is setup for left foot at an angle (front foot) and back foot straight across(right foot)how do you recommend to ride. Thanks in advance.

Hey bae,
I like to start beginners in the advanced position as you have
your board setup. Stance comfortable width, feet ducked out
8-10 degrees. Just always seems easier if they get used to the
setup fromt he outset.
For whatever reason, some folks just lack the confidence, coordination,
whatever, and I've been forced to resort to the beginner setup as
you have setup for your friend.
Some folks with bad knees, ankles, etc. also have problems with the
prototypical advanced setup, and require adjustment accordingly.

I like the front foot forward and back foot straight for beginners. The trick is to figure out which is front foot. I have them stand with feet shoulder width apart and give them a slight push....which ever foot they use to catch themselves....that is the foot I use forward.
I teach mostly off of a barefoot boom....and the above binding set-up works really well. However, this approach might change if I was only teaching from long line behind the boat. When my beginner starts to work from behind the boat...I like to try and adjust the bindings a bit more towards the "ducked out" position.88 Ski Nautique
