    wakeboard racks for windshield?

so this may be a dumb question, it wouldn't be my first, but can you attach wakeboard racks to the side of the windshield? we have a bimini and are (at this point) not interested in getting a tower, but need more room in the boat for other stuff (kids, dogs, etc.) and our wakeboards take up plenty of room. has anyone seen a set of wakeboard racks attached to the metal part of the windshield?

    RE: wakeboard racks for windshield?

I would think that would put way too much stress on the galss and cause breakage. The racks put a huge amount of stress on the tower, but since the tower is strong with a decent cross section, it does not break, but the thin metal windshield frame with glass in close proximity. No way.

One broken glass would cost more than an extended pylon to put the
      rack on.

I would vote not on the windshield mount.

the problem with the extended pylon is that we go through canals everytime that we take the boat out. the water is so high because of the hurricanes that you can't even sit on the engine cover without hitting your head on the bridge and taking down the pylon would be an extreme pain in the a$$. we figgered a tower would fall quickly as this is what our friends do with their fct, but a pylon?
what about mounting it to the side of the boat? would that work?
