RE: Wanted: Portable Course
jedgell- have you thought of building your own portable course? If you are in the least bit handy, it is really pretty easy, and will save you some $$. If you contact EZ slalom, they will sell you the plans for (if I remember correctly) $50, and I ended up spending around $250 materials with some shopping around. Just an idea.
I may be interested in selling mine, it would just cost an arm to get it to TX though...

RE: Wanted: Portable Course
Todd, I just moved to Montana, so the shipping probably wouldn't be that bad. If you do want to sell it let me know. Have you had your course surveyed to see if its accurate? Is it in good shape?
If you aren't willing to sell, how long did it take you to make the course? I imagine the hardest part is putting the rope part of the course together, is that correct?
Thanks,

RE: Wanted: Portable Course
Hey Justin- yeah, I have had my course surveyed, and it is very accurate. Even though we are members at a private lk, I still think that I am going to hold onto it though, partly b/c it was a labor of love, and I do use it occas. when we travel.
You are right, the most tedious part was the mainline, but if you are careful and particular, it comes out great. Hardest item to find was the heavy duty bundle ties you use to loop the mainline for the PVC insert points. Also, it is very helpful to use a power mitre saw for cutting the PVC collars. All this being said, it took around 20 hrs of labor, but I was pretty slow and certain with my work. Good luck to you and let me know if you have any questions. Also, the guys at EZ slalom were great at answering questions.
