    Help choosing a slalom ski

Hi, I need advice choosing a new ski. I'm predominately a wakeboarder, but I wanna get back into recreational slalom after years out of it. I'm 5'9" and 72kg's, and I'd ideally ride at about 28-31mph. I don't want to do the course but would like a ski that would help me progress and start throwing walls of water. I have been at a store and told the radar p6 or the HO tx would suit. The HO is more expensive and I can get a better deal on last years radar p6, but I'm worried as the p6 is a "wide body" ski that it may be a bit too beginner or suited to heavier blokes and not suitable for semi aggressive skiing for a lighter guy like me. (Most of the guys talking about a p6 seem to be 100kg's plus, which is much heavier than me). The HO looks cool as, but I know thats not what's important! . I'm not a great skier, but I'm not a beginner either, and I want to improve. I've also read the radar theory could suit but I'd like others experiences.

Based on what you have indicated and that most folks these days will ride behind a wakeboat I would go with the HO Freeride or the Radar Satori. Both are considered a wideride ski and designed to be pulled a lower speeds typical with a wakeboard boat. However, each of these ski will run around the balls without a shadow of a doubt if you want to run the course. Both are easy to get up on and provide the user a renewed sense of ease when it comes down to it. I have a HO Freeride and love it.

I have the ho freeride , I love it. It has the smoth edge so you can ski longer. It is awesome. I find you have to push the heel down more in the turn but I have way more fun on it than my old tournament ski.

+ another 👍 on the free ride. Great ski...we have the burner (67") with double venoms that is awesome with free skiing, but can get you into 28' off 34mph if your so inclined. The triumph is another good option.
        Peace..

I free ride every weekend and moved into a Connelly V. Awesome ski. Very stable and carves very well. I am 54 run in 32-34 @ 15 off with my boat which is a bow rider so this length speed give me the best shape wake to cross. Look into this ski and you will see lots of good reviews

My son rides a Connelly outlaw as he is a little bigger and the larger area work for him. Same setup. And yes I can keep up with him turn for turn

I would've suggested the P6 even if you didn't mention it. Free rides are nice for what they are, but if you want to make progress on slalom, it's not what you're in need of. Owning both would be great though.

A few years back I tried a bunch and bought a Connely F1x Cuts great, not too twitchy like a comp ski, and a little bit wider than their F1. Not sure if it's still in production.

I currently ski an HO Triumph. Very similar to Radar Theory. I ski with a little bit of shape and forgiveness that gives you the ability to progress into the course with the ski. It's a great blend of free ride for when you want to relax and not so wide you can't crank in it when you're feeling like hitting the shorter lengths and higher speeds.

Also skied the Connely V. Another very similar ski tho the Theory and Triumph.

I ended up buyingthe HO TX, and I had my first go on it over easter. I love it. I hadn't been on a ski for two years, but got up first go and it felt comfortable straight away, although I was putting too much weight on my back foot, so after some advice from a friend I moved the bindings forward slightly, which seemed to help a lot. Now I can't wait to really get back into it, although the water is getting cold here, so soon I'll be concentrating more on snowboarding I guess! Still, I'm looking forward to summer returning already!
