    Doomswell or Inland Surfer?

I'm looking to get a new surf style or hybrid style board to surf with. I've found this new G23's wake to be too steep for my Phase Five Hammerhead skim style unless I really dial the ballast and NCRS back. But I would love to try to hit the steep wake with a good surf style board. As for now, I'm really looking between an Inland Surfer Sweet Spot and a Doomswell Nubstep or Neo. Does anybody have any experience with any of these 3 boards?? Also playing with the idea of a Phase Five Wire surf. Heard good things about it too. Just looking for a little feedback if anybody has any.

Also, what settings are people finding to be best for skim style boards?!

Thanks in advance for the help!

Nubstep for sure. I have a Sweet Spot Pro and as soon as I can make it to the shop will own a Nubstep. Rode a friends this past weekend and in my, not very good rider, opinion there is no comparison. I am 6'-3" and give or take 215 and I bury the nose on the IS so easily. This was not a problem on the Nubstep. Good news is you can also break it lose if you want to.

Ive surfed on both. Between those 2 brands, I like IS. Nothing against Doomswell. They are great boards but they are very thick boards. If you are looking into a more traditional surf style board, look at Soulcraft. IMO they are better than Doomswell and no where near as thick.

Not on your list, but I would recommend Chaos Bamboo Sixer. Just got one - awesome!!!!!

My son is a very good rider. I am an old dude. With this board, boats passing by applaud MY riding!

Only boards I have are Inland and Doomswell. Of the boards you have mentioned I have the Neo and if you don't ride one of these before you buy anything your doing yourself an injustice. Neo is AWESOME!!!! I also have a Keenan Pro skim that's the best skim I've ever riden!!! Both awesome board companies and you can't really go wrong with either.

I'd consider a demo of the P5 Model X or the Wire as mentioned.

I would go with the doomswell neo over the nubstep. The nubstep is a wee bit faster but on a steep wake the nose tends to dive under water if you are not careful. The neo is quite fast too but the nose is much more forgiving on a steep wake if you mash on it hard. In a perfect world I would buy them both. I'm lucky because my buddies own both of them. I would take any Doomswell over inland surfer poo poo any day of the week. You will also spend less jack too.

Yeah, that's why I'm looking at surf style to begin with...my skim doesn't have enough fin and it keeps pearling the nose when I come down the wave. Good info on the Neo though. That's def good to know. I wish I could try them both first but I don't know anybody with a Doomswell.

And I like Soulcraft too, but I have a friend that just got a new custom board from them which I get to use so I want something different for us to use!
