    Starter wakeboard

Looking for a forgiving board for myself. I've surfed and slalomed more than anything but want to wakeboard some now. Need something middle of the road. I don't want to be board with it a month from now so something with a pretty good edge but not so much I'm gonna be on my face all the time. I'm 6ft and 185Lbs.

    Thanks

I mostly surf, but the first wakeboard I bought was a hyperlite state 2.0. It seemed to be pretty good. Now I have a Ronix One, and it seems fine too. It's got a bit more action than the state 2.0, but it's still pretty forgiving and easy to ride.

So the boards of today are much more friendly than those of the past. In the past lot of pro line boards had wicked rockers , some aggressive edges, and were not very forgiving. You really wanted to start on something less aggressive. I still wakeboard 80% of my water time.

These days board mfg's and boards in general have a much broader range of usability. The Hyperlite Murray comes to mind or the all new Hyoerlite Baseline which is pretty much marketed right at what your looking for. Rocker lines are much more blended these days and keep things consistent. Also huge fan of the new Hyperlite relapse. For me it's the most forgiving high pop board I've ridden. Very consistent and predictable. My favorite board in the entire Hyperlite line up.

Ronix offers up the District It's shape that has been around a while that has seen some small tweaks here and there but it is a solid beginner all the way to advanced rider board. The shape was actually a pro board for long time.

Can't really go wrong with a good ol' LF Trip, great for all levels. Or a Witness if you can still find one. Just out of production but my favorite board ever.
