    Surf devices

I doubt I'll ever use it myself, but some clients do want to surf. So I'm looking at the best option.

Mission Delta ($500) and Ronix Eight.3 ($600) are too expensive imo.
Then there's the Tsunami at $249 (wasn't that thing $139 just a short while ago?!). Adjustable.
And there's Wakesurf Edge, $215. Not adjustable.
    Suckgate Wakesurf, $350. Not adjustable.
Swell Wake, $230, not adjustable. Read somewhere on WW that it came off the boat I think.
    World of Wake, $425.
Wicked Wakesurf, attaches to platform. Only for Malibu? Price?

Didn't someone on this site make and sell one too? Was it mentioned here already? Link anyone? Any other I'm missing here?

Anyone have experiences with any of them, thoughts, favorites?

I would look into making your own Suckgate.. There have been a few threads here with lots of good info.. i made one for my 2003 San 210 that cost me $35 and it worked great!

Hi, yeah, I was going to edit my post with the DIY-option, since all others are more expensive than I figured. But then my internet connection cr@pped out on me so I couldn't... But indeed, looks like the best option still. Even for me, being a total idiot when it comes to DIY-stuff. At around $130 I'd definitely consider avoiding the hassle of ordering the stuff, getting it to Costa Rica and trying to fabricate something myself. $250 though... Different story.

      Edit: and I found the DIY-thread https://www.planetnautique.com/vb5/f...e-sucgate-v1-0

Guys. Been a member here a long time, we created the SWELL Wakesurf Creator last year playing with these behind my 2002 Super sport turned SAN. We just launched our new model after testing in Florida and Australia all winter, much improved and most importantly one of the only on the market that floats and is made in the USA!. Www.swellwake.com let me know if you're interested and I'll put together a special deal for you guys/gals!

I'm also making one - but it's 100% word of mouth right now. Not trying to make a ton on it, but trying to cover my costs and engineering.

I'm waiting to advertise on this forum until I've finished the paperwork to become an official advertiser, which is why i'm just now chiming in. I've gotten a few messages on this forum, sold about 50 of them, and everybody has had good success, save one guy who also had a built in surf-system and assumed that doubling it up would help him (fun fact: it didn't...)

I'll be advertising and doing write ups of my product once i'm a bit more established.

                            Yeah, hey Trip,
Jon with Nauticurl, say we recently sent a Shaper to Sander with Fly Zone Costa Rica (I guess the only wake park in CR?) One of their riders, from Canada actually, was flying it down in their luggage, they're looking at carrying our NautiCurl Wake Shaper at their park, maybe worth reaching out to them...

We tested on countless boats to find the most universal angle and also positioned the deflector further back than any other Shaper on the market, we've found that playing with the distance from the stern had a much bigger impact than angle and size.

For or anybody else interested in giving us a shot, we have a money-back guarantee and a $50 off a Shaper/Board combo promo going or feel free to use code Planet25 for $25 off a Shaper. Check out our vid page too!

                              Finally got the Nauticurl wet.
I first attached it like this.

No ballast filled and I got a really nice clean wave that I could almost surf.
There was a big spray coming from the wake shaper though.

Then filled 2 540's in the rear. Didn't fill the front 'cause the bow bag is a royal pain in the arse to empty, and I was with wife and kids so didn't want them to wait even longer. Yes auto-ballast is going to be the first major upgrade...
This set up turned it into a huge white washy mess. Put wife and kids in bow, but that didn't change it.
Moved the shaper forward a bit.

Got quite a bit better straight away. Still not great, really short and still washing out a bit, but I could surf that no problem, together with my daughter. The spray that came off the shaper earlier was also gone.

I'm assuming that with front ballast filled it'll get longer (and hopefully cleaner), and that experimenting some more with placement and angle of the shaper it'll clean up nicely.
Where do others put their suck gates on these 210's?

Only tried port side by the way, which if I'm correct is the worse side for this hull(?).

Oh yeah I attached the shaper to the orange vest that you see in the pic, kept it floating nicely. Didn't come off, btw.

                              To be continued...
