    Question on surf boards

Looking at buying a few surf boards as we now have a boat that can surf. I got one for the middle of the pack people, but I need one for kids/little people/beginners, and need one for myself.

For the kids, was looking at the Phase 5 Scamp. My kids are 9 yrs old (60 lbs) and 11 years old (80 lbs). Most of the kids we pull will be between 50 and 100 lbs.

For me, I'm 6'4" and 195 lbs. I see some people recommend the Inland Surfer Red Rocket for "big people" but I'm tall and lanky and would like something I can move around and cut up, not just a board that will get me on top of the water.

    Recommendations?? Thanks!!

    Ronix has some Kids Boards.

With 195lbs you have a lot of boards you can choose from and with 6'4, just don't take a ultra short one. In my opinion something around 5.5 should give you enough "stance" and the rest depends on what you want to do with it. Example: Phase 5 AHI 5.8 - Take a look around, maybe you can test some boards first.

Interested to see these suggestions, I'm 6'4 195 as well and looking for a new board. I've heard good things about The Shim

Skim board - go with Phase 5. Love the Danielo LTD and Hammerhead. Surf style - Doomswell Neo would be money. Brock down there is a great dude and they make great boards.

I have two kids, boy-6 and girl-8, and got the Phase 5 Scamp to get them started - works great, they can both get up without help and my youngest is about ready to drop the rope (as you can see they approve!)

I use a very floaty hyperlite surf style board - works great as I am also basically a beginner, easy to get up and progress to surfing, not great for tricks but have head the Hammerhead is great as previously mentioned
