    Wakeboard binding question

ok, this may be stupid, but I dont know the answer. My daughter rides a Hyperlite board, and the elastic in her bindings is shot. She needs new boots, so my question is, are boot/bindings mounting systems proprietary, or can I mix and match? Looks like liquid force makes some better bindings than hyperlite, but I dont know if they will work on her board. Thanks for helping an old guy out

Bindings are "pretty much " universal between mfg these days. The issues arise more so on hardware compatibility on old gear vs new gear. Older boards and bindings have different hole pattern lengths and use a different thread. These days everything is an M6 thread and the hole pattern are all identical ( except for channel boards)
You can put some some of the newer bindings on older boards and vise versa by simply swapping hardware, but these again really depends on the combo.

To be 100 percent certain post the binding model and board models you're looking to put together. Chances are if the board is 4 yrs old or less you have the M6 threads and the newer shortened hole pattern. The one good thing about bindings is they have come a looooooooooong way in comfort. The bad thing is that comfort has come at the price of durability and longevity. .

Board is 2 seasons old. Yes these bindings are made poorly. I have never owned a binding with elastic, which is what failed. Tight neoprene which requires soap to get on is what I still use. The neoprene can be unscrewed and tightened as it ages also. Recommendations are welcome. 13 yo girl, intermediate but not very agressive.

My daughters really like the Hyperlite Jinx. Not the most high end binding , but comfy and allows room for growth. So far rock solid on durability . Also decent price point binding. The Syn is very similar. The Blur is a step above . Little stiffer , little more performance
