    Option to replace Polk speakers

Several of my Polk speakers on my 2009 SAN 210 have the tweeter portion of the speaker broken from people leaning on them. Does anyone know of a good "bolt-on" replacement speaker that has a grill to protect the entire speaker?

Although the XS-650 has the open spoke grill, the tweeter is covered and protected. For a more enclosed grill, look to the SW series or the new Revo series. The JL offerings come with a covered tweeter and the classic grill is a closed louvered grill. The Rockford PM262 is also well protected.

I am looking for something like the Rockford PM262 but this is a 6 inch speaker so it would not fit in my existing installation. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

              What is your budget?
How much power do you plan to put thru them?
Do you like brighter or more subdued sound?

I personally like the balance of the JL Audio speakers but they are not for everyone. The 'classic' grill looks like it has some protection.

JL mx650 is an incredible upgrade. can crank them to the max, and zero distortion or ear ringing highs. not cheap, but have been incredible for almost ten years. incredibly clear even at high volumes. if you have an amp that is near their rated rms handling, you will not be disappointed.

I finally replaced my entire speaker system. The tower has Roswell Horn Drivers and interior speakers are Roswell Marine 6.5 speakers with heavy metal chrome grills. These speaker grills will never break if someone leans back against them. I really like the replacement speakers and would recommend them. All speakers required no modification to install.
