Slalom ski recommendation, Wide body but not Big Daddy

Looking for a replacement for my Big Daddy ski, finding it too fat and sloppy handling, not trying to run the course just cut and run style.

I moved from a Big Daddy to an HO Charger (69"). It is a wide body ski that you can free ski or course ski but not short line. The HO Burner is a 67" Ski and the HO Magnum is a 71" Ski. I am 6' 245 lbs and the Charger 69" is perfect. 250 plus you will need the 71". Low 200's you can use the burner. Burners more available than the others. Also, take a look at the HO Free Ride Series. They are a more modern Wide Body Ski that you can cut nicely with.

I am hoping to loose a few more lbs and improve my skiing and my next move will be a HO TX (Triumph). It is a great crossover ski that is slightly wider than the CX. Many prefer the Radar Senate too. Go to www.ski it again.com and go to the for sale section. Never buy a current year ski (2017), you can get a smoking deal on a 2016 or older. Dealers dump their 2016 skis to get ready for the 2017 models. You can get great discounts.

The best thing to do is try to demo any ski before buying, but that is not always possible.My ski is likely 10 years old and many on www.balls of spray.com will tell you not to buy older than five years old. I do think this is a good plan. Skis improve greatly each year.

Seems like all of the majors offer a wide ski. Not as big as the Big Daddy.

I have ridden an O'brien Synchro. Bit wider than normal so it is easy to get up on, and certainly cuts around quite well.

I have really enjoyed the connelly F1X. I am not sure if they are still available. It is a little wider than the F1. A little more stable and forgiving, but still can be skied very aggressively.

all great choices. Give you the option of freeride or dabbling in a course. Litttle wider profile but still performance skis.
