    Samson Edge Tower Users?

Looking to upgrade the Monster tower the previous owner put on our 206 Ltd. Want to stick with a more original factory look but being that I need to raise and lower the tower every time I go in and out of the lift, most often by myself, I like the look and ease of a Samson Edge vs. the New Dimension factory tower. Especially with a couple of speakers mounted. Anyone have any experience with these towers? Stability? Noise? Ease of installation and raising and lowering? Thanks in advance.

I've got one on my boat which is a trailer garage queen, so get's raised/lowered every time we go out. I don't have speakers mounted, but it's a pretty **** easy tower to put up and down, and the bonus part is, can fold forward or back. I go forward so that I can do general engine work in the garage and have the tower out of the way. I can have it up or down in about a minute.

The order of approach for me is loosen both upper knobs and loosen one lower knob. Then remove the opposite lower knob and fold that leg up into a horizontal position and tighten the upper knob to lock that leg horizontal. Then pull the other lower knob and fold the tower forward. The one leg to horizontal is important here as you'll switch your grip to that as the upper cross-bar will likely be too high to hold onto. Once folded forward, fold the remaining leg to horizontal, and you should be close to, if not below, windshield height. Putting it up is reverse where you straighten one leg first and raise it.

When mounted and up, the tower's rock solid - no rattles or shakes, and being a custom tower, they match the lower section to your windshield lines. The hardest part for me was where to locate my tower mirror clamp to be out of the way of the tower folding. I ended up mounting mine on the semi-horizontal portion of the lower tower mount, and just fold the mirror down when garaging so that it stays below the windshield height. I've also got an under-tower bimini that fits well and can just be strapped against the rear tower cross-bar (in its boot) when not deployed.

Thanks for the input. I'm working with them now to try and get the design just right. It's got to be a big improvement over the existing tower.

This is an older thread, however I can second the stability and lack of noise on the edge. Just bought this bot and it had the tower in question on it.

It folds down to nothing also. Excuse the messy garage, we just unloaded the storage unit.

        Hope this helps.
